چکیده
In the title compound, [CdI(2)(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)], each Cd atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two 1-methylimidazole and two iodido ligands. The Cd atom has a distorted tetrahedral coordination. Inter-molecular C-H⋯I hydrogen bonds link the monomeric units, generating a one-dimensional supra-molecular chain along the a axis.

Each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Zn-N = 1.996 (6) and 2.032 (5) Å] and two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.930 (4) and 1.976 (4) Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [ZnI(2)(C(12)H(10)N(2)O(2))(2)], obtained from the reaction of 4-(4-nitro-benz-yl)pyridine with zinc(II) iodide, contains two independent discrete distorted tetra-hedral complex units [Zn-I = 2.5472 (8)-2.5666 (7) Å and Zn-N = 2.044 (4)-2.052 (4) Å], which are essentially identical conformationally. The crystal used for measurement was a racemic twin.

In the title compound, [CdI(2){(C(6)H(5))(3)PO}(2)], the Cd(II) atom is ligated by two I atoms and two O atoms from two triphenyl-phosphine oxide ligands in a disorted tetra-hedral arrangement. While the O-Cd-I angles vary from 106.67 (7) to 111.23 (7)°, the O-Cd-O angle is 88.60 (10)° and the I-Cd-I angle angle is 125.47 (2)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by van der Waals forces only.
